Administrative command execution via unsanitized ping address
Published Jun 6, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
OS command injection in MitraStar GPT-2741GNAC firmware AR_g5.8_110WVN0b7_2 allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary commands. The ping.cgi handler stores the unsanitized PingIPAddr value, and DiagGeneral.cgi passes the retrieved value directly to system(). Administrative portal credentials are required; successful exploitation permits command execution and modification of the router operating environment.
