Remote command execution via AT argument injection
Published Aug 4, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Argument injection in ConnectedIO ER2000 2.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands through an AT command message. The cioClient parser accepts comma-delimited MQTT payloads, and the AT-command handler fails to neutralize argument delimiters before invoking an operating-system command. Remote reachability requires publishing to the target device's MQTT DR topic; successful commands execute as root on the router.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
