Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published May 28, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Smart App Banners 1.1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify plugin settings through a forged request. The wsl_smart_app_banner_options function accepts settings-changing requests without valid WordPress nonce verification. Exploitation requires an administrator with an active authenticated session to open attacker-controlled content, after which plugin settings can be changed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
