CVE-2023-3330

Authenticated file disclosure via USB directory traversal

Published Jun 28, 2023 · Updated Dec 4, 2024

Directory traversal in NEC Aterm router firmware allows remote authenticated users to read specific files from attached USB storage. The USB-storage file-sharing function fails to constrain a requested path to its intended directory; NEC has not disclosed the affected handler. Reachability requires router or bridge mode, attached USB storage, and LAN access; WAN access is possible only when explicitly enabled, and exposed files can include administrator credentials and wireless keys.
