CVE-2023-33298Public exploit

Root command execution via unsanitized usingCAPath

Published Jun 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024

Command injection in Perimeter81 10.0.0.19 for macOS allows local users to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. The install_SDP_CA method in com.perimeter81.osx.HelperTool interpolates the usingCAPath dictionary value into a security command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. A low-privileged local user can send a crafted XPC helper_tool_rpc message without user interaction, gaining root-level command execution.
