Browser script execution via unencoded 404 path
Published Jun 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Reflected XSS in the Gira KNX IP Router web interface 3.1.3683.0 and 3.3.8.0 allows remote attackers to execute browser script. The 404 handler decodes a nonexistent request path and inserts it into a text/html response without context-sensitive HTML encoding. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted URL; script then runs in that user's browser context, enabling page-content access or modification rather than device takeover.
