Unauthenticated UPS control via unchecked CGI requests
Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Authentication bypass in PowerShield SNMP Web Pro 1.1 allows remote attackers to control UPS systems through direct CGI requests. The web server accepts requests to CGI endpoints without verifying the web-interface authentication cookie or otherwise authorizing the request. The interface must be network-reachable and HTTP Digest authentication must be disabled; under that configuration, no web password prevents unauthorized UPS control.
