LDAP credential theft via attacker-controlled bind server

Published May 21, 2023 · Updated Jan 31, 2025

Credential exposure in KACE Systems Deployment and Remote Site appliances 9.0.146 allows remote authenticated users to capture LDAP bind credentials. The Test Settings workflow accepts an attacker-controlled LDAP server address and sends the configured directory bind credentials to that server in cleartext. Access to edit user-authentication settings and trigger the test is required; exposed credentials can carry elevated Active Directory privileges.
