Remote code execution via Parameter Zone commands
Published Dec 15, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in affected IDEMIA biometric terminals allows remote attackers to execute code through Parameter Zone commands. The Parameter Zone Read and Parameter Zone Write handlers accept command data that overruns a stack buffer; IDEMIA does not identify the binary or faulty copy operation. SIGMA Wide and Extreme before 4.15.5, MorphoWave SP before 1.2.7, and VisionPass and MorphoWave Compact/XP before 2.12.2 are affected; default Enforced Security or mTLS raises the gate to a highly privileged command source.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
