Code execution via writable Mosquitto plugin configuration
Published Jul 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 24, 2024
Improper permissions in ABB Ability zenon 11 through build 106404 allow local users to execute arbitrary code through CDDataHub.conf. The Service Grid Data Hub directory grants non-administrators write access to CDDataHub.conf, which controls Mosquitto plugin loading and accepts an arbitrary executable path. Exploitation requires low-privileged access to a Windows host with the optional Service Grid installed; successful execution can alter zenon runtime activity with the service's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
