LDAP attribute disclosure via unescaped certificate subjects
Published Jul 5, 2023 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
LDAP injection in Bouncy Castle For Java before 1.74 allows remote attackers to enumerate LDAP attributes via crafted certificates. X509LDAPCertStoreSpi concatenates an X.500 subject name into an LDAP search filter without escaping wildcard and filter metacharacters. Exploitation requires an application to use the LDAP CertStore for X.509 validation and an LDAP directory whose responses or errors expose boolean-query differences.
