Local file disclosure via unvalidated attachment URI
Published May 27, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Path validation failure in Federico Iosue Omni Notes before 6.2.7 allows local users to disclose internal files through a crafted intent. DetailFragment.handleIntents passes an untrusted EXTRA_STREAM URI through AttachmentTask to StorageHelper.createExternalStoragePrivateFile, which opens and copies the referenced file without validating its path. A malicious or compromised app on the same device must trigger the share flow; external-storage readers can then access copied notes and preferences.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
