CVE-2023-33187Network attack vector

Password disclosure via lost input masking

Published May 26, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Cleartext password recording in highlight.run before 6.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to expose credentials through session capture. The rrweb-backed DOM recorder stops masking an input after its type changes from password to text, allowing later recordings to contain its value. Exploitation requires privileged access and user interaction with a Show Password control; the consequence is password disclosure in recorded or transmitted session data.
