Data exposure via disguised notebook links
Published Jun 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Spoofing in Microsoft OneNote before 16.0.14326.21450 allows remote attackers to disguise malicious links in crafted notebooks. The crafted notebook makes attacker-controlled link or embedded-file content appear trustworthy, concealing its actual destination or payload. Exploitation requires a user to open the file and select the crafted content, exposing data through the resulting navigation or launch.
