Memory corruption via out-of-range audio pointer
Published Mar 4, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Out-of-range pointer use in the audio RT proxy port registration driver in Snapdragon firmware allows local users to corrupt memory. During RT proxy port registration, the audio driver processes a pointer offset outside its intended range and can write beyond the intended memory boundary. Local access is required; Qualcomm has not disclosed the malformed input or whether exploitation yields code execution or a service interruption.
