Credential disclosure via unmasked agent build logs
Published May 16, 2023 · Updated Jan 23, 2025
Credential exposure in Jenkins HashiCorp Vault Plugin 360.v0a_1c04cf807d and earlier allows attackers to read secrets from build logs. The plugin's build-log masking fails to replace Vault credentials with asterisks for sh or bat Pipeline steps executed on agents. Exposure requires a secret-printing Pipeline step on an agent and push mode enabled through the durable-task system property or an enabling plugin.
