CVE-2023-32985Public exploitNetwork attack vector

File-existence disclosure via unchecked icon path

Published May 16, 2023 · Updated Jan 23, 2025

Path traversal in Jenkins Sidebar Link Plugin 2.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to enumerate controller files. The doCheckLinkIcon endpoint passes its value parameter to Jenkins.get().getRootPath().child() without rejecting parent-directory sequences, then reveals whether the resulting path exists. Overall/Read permission is required, and the oracle discloses file existence rather than file contents.
