Sitewide stored XSS via unsanitized instance ID
Published Jun 22, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Team Updraft UpdraftPlus 1.23.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject script through a forged request. The action_authenticate_storage path accepts an unverified GET request and passes the raw updraftplus_instance value into build_authentication_link, which emits it into an HTML attribute without sanitization. Exploitation requires Dropbox remote storage and an authenticated administrator to visit a crafted URL; the stored script runs across wp-admin and can steal data or escalate privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
