Subscriber-level plugin activation via missing capability check
Published Jun 11, 2026 · Updated Jun 11, 2026
Missing authorization in Sparkle WP MetroStore 1.3.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to activate arbitrary plugins. The theme's AJAX plugin-activation handler calls activate_plugin() without checking the caller's WordPress capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, allowing installed but inactive plugins to be enabled and modify site behavior.
