Local information disclosure via missing keyInstall bounds check
Published Jan 2, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
An out-of-bounds read in keyInstall on MediaTek chipsets running Android 11.0 through 13.0 allows local users to disclose information. The keyInstall component reads beyond an intended buffer because it omits a bounds check on data used during key installation. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and is limited to reading memory outside the intended buffer.
