Classic buffer overflow in MediaTek's Android 12.0 and 13.0 display component allows local users with System privileges to elevate privileges. The display component copies input without enforcing a bounds check; MediaTek does not identify the affected function or input path. Exploitation requires local access and System execution privileges but no user interaction, and the consequence is limited to privilege escalation on affected chipsets.
