Local information disclosure via unchecked GNSS input
Published Sep 4, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in MediaTek's GNSS service on Android 13.0 allows local users with System privileges to disclose adjacent memory. The service fails to validate input properly before using it to determine a read boundary, causing a read beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires System execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and is limited to local information disclosure.
