Command injection in Zabbix Server allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code by configuring a malicious icmpping item. The interval and IPv6 capability checks append the item-supplied target to an fping command string without validation or shell escaping. An account permitted to configure items can run commands with the Zabbix server process privileges; the issue is confined to the server component.
