Terminal code execution via ANSI log injection

Log injection in Splunk Enterprise before 9.1.0.2, 9.0.5.1, or 8.2.11.2 allows remote attackers to target terminal users. Unauthenticated HTTP requests write attacker-controlled ANSI escape sequences into Splunk log files; Universal Forwarder before 9.1.1, 9.0.6, or 8.2.12 is affected only when its management service is network-accessible. Execution requires a user to read the poisoned log in a terminal that interprets ANSI sequences, and resulting code runs with that terminal's permissions.
