Unauthorized search-result disclosure via copyresults command
Published Jun 1, 2023 · Updated Feb 28, 2025
Information disclosure in Splunk Web in affected Splunk Enterprise and Cloud Platform releases allows remote authenticated users to copy search results. The copyresults SPL command accepts a recent search job SID and transfers its result data without enforcing that the caller is authorized for that job. Exploitation requires a low-privileged account, knowledge of a recently run job's SID, and user interaction, and it affects confidentiality only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.1 <8.1.14
