CVE-2023-32689Network attack vector

Phishing and session theft via unrestricted HTML upload

Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Jan 10, 2025

Unrestricted HTML upload in Parse Server before 5.4.4 and 6.0.0 through 6.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to host phishing pages. The public files API accepts and serves attacker-supplied HTML from the application's own origin without blocking dangerous extensions. A valid low-privilege application context is required; a visited upload can impersonate the host and read Parse JavaScript SDK session tokens from same-origin local storage.
