CVE-2023-32655

Local privilege escalation via installer path traversal

Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Aug 30, 2024

Path traversal in Intel NUC USB Type-C Power Delivery Controller software before 1.0.10.3 allows local users to escalate privileges. Intel has not disclosed which installer component accepts the crafted path or which file operation escapes its intended directory. Exploitation requires low privileges and user interaction on a NUC8i7HVK or NUC8HNK system and can compromise system confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
