Administrator access via control-character username confusion

Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024

Authentication bypass in CyberPower Systems PowerPanel Enterprise 2.6.0 allows remote attackers to gain administrator access. The login handler fails to neutralize a non-printable control character appended to the default cyberpower username and accepts the hardcoded account credentials. No prior account or user interaction is required; successful exploitation grants control of the data-center power-management application.
