Local privilege escalation via uncontrolled search path
Published Feb 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 15, 2024
Uncontrolled search path handling in Intel Virtual RAID on CPU before 8.0.8.1001 allows local users to gain elevated privileges. Intel identifies an uncontrolled search path element but does not disclose the affected executable, library, search location, or lookup operation. Local users must already hold low privileges and induce a user action before attacker-controlled code can run with elevated privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
