Arbitrary code execution via freed 3D annotation
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Use-after-free in Foxit PDF Reader 12.1.3.15356 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a malicious PDF. Embedded JavaScript calls deletePages(), freeing a 3D annotation object that the U3DBrowser component later uses without validation. Exploitation requires the user to open the document, or to visit a malicious site when the browser plugin is enabled, and runs code in the user's context.
