CVE-2023-32614Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Memory corruption via invalid PNG width comparison

Published Sep 25, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Heap buffer underwrite in Accusoft ImageGear 20.1 allows attackers to corrupt memory by loading a specially crafted malformed PNG file. The create_png_object reader uses an invalid unsigned comparison in a loop bounded by the IHDR width; a width of 3 with missing tags makes the loop write before its three-byte heap buffer. Exploitation requires a host application to process an attacker-supplied PNG, and the demonstrated consequence is an access-violation crash with heap corruption.
