Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized settings
Published Aug 25, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Wolfgang Ertl weebotLite 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The settings path stores attacker-controlled values without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, causing the scripts to run when an affected page is viewed. Administrator-level access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites where the unfiltered_html capability is disabled.
