Settings modification via nonce-free update handler
Published Nov 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Hyphenator 5.1.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify plugin settings via forged requests. The hyphenator_update() function accepts settings-changing requests without validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires an administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link while authenticated; the resulting forged update changes only the plugin configuration.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
