Stored script execution via unsanitized admin settings
Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in WPExperts Password Protected 2.6.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through admin settings. The plugin saves and renders some settings without sanitizing their input or escaping their output, allowing stored markup to execute in pages. Administrator access is required, and exposure occurs when unfiltered_html is unavailable, including WordPress multisite installations; visiting an affected page runs the injected script.
