CVE-2023-32572Network attack vector

SafeMode disablement via alterable retention lock

Published Oct 2, 2023 · Updated Sep 23, 2024

Improper access control in Purity//FA 6.3.0 through 6.3.7 and 6.4.0 through 6.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to disable SafeMode. The affected pgroup retention-lock path permits an array administrator to alter the lock so that pgroup SafeMode protection is removed. Exploitation requires array-administrator privileges and can remove retention controls that protect stored data from destructive changes.
