Unauthenticated SYSTEM code execution via upload path traversal
Published Jun 26, 2023 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
Path traversal in Trend Micro Apex One 2019 before 14.0.0.12024 allows remote attackers to upload files and execute code as SYSTEM. The Management Server upload path fails to confine a crafted pathname to the intended directory, permitting an attacker-chosen file to be written outside it. The management server must be remotely reachable; no authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants system privileges.
