Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published Nov 18, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
CSRF in Google Site Verification plugin using Meta Tag 1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter settings through an administrator. The settings-update function accepts forged requests because it lacks nonce validation. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to interact with attacker-controlled content, allowing the attacker to replace plugin settings under that administrator session.
