CVE-2023-32457Network attack vector

Authenticated privilege escalation via stale role membership

Published Aug 29, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024

Improper privilege management in Dell PowerScale OneFS allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges through stale role membership. When a user or group is deleted from a local identity provider, OneFS retains associated role membership and permits unintended identity mapping. Exploitation requires a low-privilege remote account and a stale role-member mapping; successful use grants the privileges assigned to that role.
