CVE-2023-32448

License-key disclosure via cleartext installation storage

Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Jan 10, 2025

Cleartext storage in Dell PowerPath for Windows 7.0 through 7.2 allows local users to retrieve the product license key. The installation directory stores the license key in readable form rather than protecting it against access by ordinary local accounts. Access to that directory is required, and disclosure enables unauthorized installation and licensing on other systems without altering the original host.
