CVE-2023-32409Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Remote sandbox escape via unchecked WebGPU buffer length

Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Jan 12, 2026

A WebKit bounds-checking flaw in Apple iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and Safari allows remote attackers to escape its sandbox. RemoteBuffer::unmap in the WebGPU GPU process accepted a data vector larger than the currently mapped buffer because it checked only that a mapping existed. A compromised Web Content process can therefore overwrite beyond the mapped range and cross the sandbox boundary, while Apple reports active exploitation.
