Privacy preference bypass via insufficient entitlement checks
Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Improper permissions in Shortcuts before iOS 16.5, iPadOS 16.5, watchOS 9.5, and macOS 13.4 allow local users to bypass Privacy preferences. The Shortcuts component fails to enforce required application entitlements before permitting access governed by those preferences. Execution of a malicious app with user interaction is required, and Apple has not identified which protected data or capabilities become accessible.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
