CVE-2023-32380

Arbitrary code execution via 3D model parsing

Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Apple macOS Model I/O allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted 3D model. Model I/O applies inadequate bounds checks while processing attacker-supplied 3D model data, permitting writes beyond an allocated buffer. Affected releases are Big Sur before 11.7.7, Monterey before 12.6.6, and Ventura before 13.4; successful exploitation executes code in the affected process.
