CVE-2023-32369Public exploit

SIP bypass via inherited migration entitlement

Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

System Integrity Protection bypass in Apple macOS allows local users with root access to modify protected file-system areas. The migration daemon passes its SIP-bypassing entitlement to child Perl and Bash interpreters, whose startup behavior can be redirected through attacker-set environment variables. Root access is required; exploitation can create persistent, ordinarily undeletable files and tamper with system integrity controls.
