CVE-2023-32358Network attack vector

Arbitrary code execution via WebKit PDF type confusion

Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024

Type confusion in Apple iOS, iPadOS, and macOS Ventura allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted WebKit PDF content. Apple identifies WebKit PDF as the locus and says improved checks correct the type confusion, but it has not disclosed the affected function or object types. Exploitation requires user interaction with attacker-controlled web content on iOS or iPadOS before 16.4 or macOS Ventura before 13.3.
