CVE-2023-32325Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via attacker-controlled toolbar host

Published May 26, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Cross-site scripting in PostHog posthog-js before 1.57.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser. The Toolbar.loadToolbar path accepted apiURL and jsURL values from toolbar parameters and used the selected host to construct and load toolbar JavaScript rather than binding the load to the configured API host. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and victim interaction, and a restrictive Content Security Policy blocks the cross-origin script load.
