Browser script execution via unescaped map data
Published Aug 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Reflected XSS in Yoast Local SEO 14.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a user's browser via a crafted link. The frontend map block renders location name and URL values without correct output escaping, allowing crafted input to enter the page as executable markup. Exploitation is unauthenticated but requires a privileged user to open the crafted link or page; script execution is confined to that user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
