CVE-2023-32282

Privilege escalation via undisclosed BIOS firmware race

Published Mar 14, 2024 · Updated Apr 10, 2025

A BIOS firmware race condition in some Intel Processors allows local users with high privileges to escalate privileges across security boundaries. Intel identifies the locus only as BIOS firmware and does not disclose which state is checked and later used or how concurrent activity wins the race. Exploitation requires local access, high privileges and successful timing, and can alter or interrupt resources beyond the original security scope.
