Stored script execution via floating-button text
Published Sep 25, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Sygnoos Popup Builder before 4.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted popup settings. The image-popup Floating Button Text setting stores attacker-supplied anchor markup without sanitization or output escaping and renders it in WordPress Admin. Administrator privileges and a site that denies unfiltered_html, such as WordPress multisite, are required; the script runs when an administrator clicks the floating button.
