SYSTEM code execution via exposed elevated installer window
Published Jul 25, 2023 · Updated Oct 24, 2024
Local privilege escalation in Vasion PrinterLogic Client for Windows before 25.0.0.836 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM. The installer launches the device-configuration binary with elevated privileges but leaves its command window visible and interactive, allowing escape to a SYSTEM shell. The flaw requires a standard Windows user to access the installation or repair workflow; successful exploitation grants unrestricted local code execution with SYSTEM privileges.
