Arbitrary JavaScript execution via unescaped request URLs
Published Oct 16, 2024 · Updated Oct 16, 2024
Reflected XSS in Rancher API Server allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript in a victim's browser via a crafted URL. The server copies request URL input into response links and JavaScript or CSS attributes without context-appropriate encoding, and the UI renders that output as executable script. Exploitation requires a victim to open the malicious URL; the resulting script runs in that victim's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
